Future Plans

The west flank of Milton Keynes is a rapidly growing population with many new homes being built over the next 30 years. As part of this city expansion God wants to expand His church within this area and we are dedicated to serving this purpose. We also believe this will include planting another church in this west area of MK. Our immediate aim is to establish a team of elders to govern the church and train many leaders for small and medium size groups, Alpha, marriage and parenting courses, children’s and young people’s ministry, money advice and worship.

We believe that more can be achieved together than we can on our own. To this end we are actively engaged with 7 other churches working out the mission to communicate Gods love to every household in the west area of MK, both new and existing. There is a sustained and developing relationship among the leaders, partnership in running Christian After School Clubs in the local primary schools (SWG – So Why God?), joint prayer events and alpha courses. We are expectant of doing more together to achieve more.

Life long learning is on Gods agenda and we are committed to seeing every person part of the church community grow in their faith and in the grace of God, be trained and give themselves to passionately serving God in all areas of life. We are continually using various materials to achieve this and evaluating their effectiveness. Every year we look to provide placements for Frontier Project students who will gain theological teaching combined with skills training, spread across the academic year. For getting to grips with the Bible we use Wordplus which is an excellent training tool to equip Christians with sound Biblical knowledge and to think biblically. It uses an accessible, proven framework to get to grips with the Old and New Testaments, foundational doctrines and church history.

A new Community Money Advice Service will be starting in the Autumn of 2008. A grant from the Milton Keynes Community Foundation has enabled us to start this new service in the west of MK, and will assist us building on the existing debt advice work. The free service is to be developed to also provide personal finance management skills. We aim to run some life relationship courses, such as marriage and parenting as part of our service to the local community. These courses will be open to everyone to enrich and provide skills for healthy relationships.
